In 1962 H. D. "Mac" McCondichie left a successful position with a Caterpillar dealer.  With a small amount of borrowed seed money, he ventured out to form his own equipment company.  Trax, Inc. started out with two employees, Mac and his wife, Mary Katherine, and in the first year did around $1 million in sales.  Through thirty years, Mac built his company into one of the premier equipment distributors with over 100 employees and $100 million in annual sales.

Having participated over those years in auctions as both buyer and seller, Mac developed a deep appreciation of the auction industry and formed McCondichie Auction Companies, LLC for the purpose of selling construction equipment and real estate.
